Overview

Discover Â鶹Éç aims to give prospective students a taste of first-year life and study at the Â鶹Éç.

Discover Â鶹Éç is free and available to all Year 12 (or equivalent) students who are academically able to study at Â鶹Éç in their chosen subject and meet our .

All of our Humanities, Social Science, Business & Management Discover Â鶹Éç courses will take place from Monday 10 – Wednesday 12 August 2026.

Criminology

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Criminology strand of Discover Â鶹Éç you must be studying 3 A levels (or equivalent), with at least one A level in a humanities or social science subject. You must also be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Criminology courses at Â鶹Éç.

Economics

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Economics strand of Discover Â鶹Éç you must be studying 3 A levels (or equivalent), to include A level Maths. You must also be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Economics courses at Â鶹Éç.

Health, Exercise & Sport

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Health, Exercise & Sport strand of Discover Â鶹Éç you must be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Health and Sport courses at Â鶹Éç.

Politics

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Politics strand of Discover Â鶹Éç you must be studying 3 A levels (or equivalent). You must also likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Politics courses at Â鶹Éç.

Sociology

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Sociology strand of Discover Â鶹Éç you must be studying 3 A levels (or equivalent) to include at least one humanities or social science subject. You must also be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Social Sciences courses at Â鶹Éç.

Business and Marketing

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Business and Marketing strand of Discover Â鶹Éç you must be studying 3 A levels (or equivalent) that demonstrate a high level of study in both essay-based and numerical or analytical subjects. You must also be likely to meet the entry requirements for one of the Management courses at Â鶹Éç.

I found the Discover Â鶹Éç programme for sport and health really fascinating and enjoyable! I was able to expand my knowledge in terms of the course content, as well as develop valuable skills that I can utilise at university. This course turned out to be a great project to work on alongside my A levels and the staff provided an immense amount of support throughout. The Q&A sessions with a current student also provided greater insight into what life at university can entail outside of studying.
